I never though I'd LOVE digital - UNTILL this Beauty
The Hasselblad 907x with the CFV 100c digital back is one of the smallest and strangest 100 megapixel cameras ever made — a slim square body that on its own is useless, paired with a digital back that can mount to any Hasselblad V-system body ever produced. That modularity is what makes it genuinely interesting. Slap it on a 1990s Hasselblad 501c and you're shooting digital through 60-year-old Swedish glass. Adapt Leica M-mount lenses and it becomes a tiny dreamlike art camera. Mount a Pentax 67 105mm and you've built a medium format monster with bokeh that shouldn't exist at this price point.
I took the full setup on a road trip through Nevada — abandoned mines, the extraterrestrial highway, ghost towns, desert highways and blue hour in the middle of nowhere — testing the camera in five different configurations: the native Hasselblad XCD 38mm, the vintage 501c with original Hasselblad V-system glass, a Voigtlander 35mm LTM adapted to M-mount, a TTartisans 50mm, and the Pentax 67 with both 105mm and 75mm lenses. Each combination produces noticeably different results — the native XCD glass is clinically sharp, the vintage Hasselblad lenses add warmth and rendering character, the Leica-adapted lenses create swirling dreamy edges wide open, and the Pentax 67 lenses produce a pastel creaminess that has no right existing on a digital sensor.
Practical notes for anyone considering lens adaption on this system: V-mount lenses cover fully, Leica M-mount lenses vignette but are usable cropped, and all adapted lenses require electronic shutter mode which limits fast-moving subject work. Focus peaking and double-tap magnification are available for precise manual focusing.
