A lot of business owners say they want freedom but build themselves a job they can never leave. If you’re always in the ditch, the highest your people can rise is assistant ditch digger.
Here’s how I look at it: every hour I’m not micromanaging is an hour I can build opportunities for my team — upward mobility, more structure, more growth. You should be able to hunt, fish, play golf, or just chill with your family. That’s what owning a business should earn you. But to do that, you need systems, trust, and a little bit of [ __ ] letting go.
