Odin is a popular Guardian Force in Final Fantasy 8 and with FF8 Remastered bringing the game back to us all, its worth reminding folks of the mechanics of how to keep Odin permanently.
If you recruit Odin on Disk 2, once you first gain access to the Centra Ruins then you need to be aware of an unavoidable event that occurs later during the finale of disk 3. In a nutshell, Odin is permanently removed from your roster and replaced with an inferior GF. This event can be skipped entirely if you hold off on recruiting Odin until the final disk.
