This video is about Sturge-Weber Syndrome. It is a rare neurological vascular disorder characterized by a facial birth mark called port-wine stain, abnormal blood vessels in brain and glaucoma. SWS is a neurocutaneous syndrome. The birth mark is usually present on forehead and upper eyelid on one side of face. It vary in color and is caused by over abundance of small blood vessels beneath the surface of face. Sturge Weber syndrome is also associated with atrophy and calcification in the cerebral cortex of the brain on the same side as birth mark. Neurological symptoms include seizures, muscle weakness, developmental delay, and migraine headache. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. In my video I have discussed causes, symptoms, radiology and management of Sturge-Weber Syndrome.
