👉 I don't use any bait (sometimes just a pinch of bloodworms in each hole).
Bait: a clean bunch of bloodworms on a jig and a worm on the top hook.
Weather conditions on this day:
daytime temperatures up to +16-19°C;
Wind 5-6 m/s, sometimes gusty up to 10-12 m/s;
Ice about 30 cm thick (it's already crumbling when drilling holes, and it's starting to get dark).
👉 I've been waiting all winter for this moment when I can take my summer fishing rods out onto the ice. Yes, the access is getting worse and worse. Waders, waders, boats—what don't fishermen take with them to get to the last ice?
This time, we didn't have any boats, but there are A LOT of fishermen on the lake. It's a day off, so it's unclear what will happen with the ice.
And the crucian carp are biting. Not everyone, but they are biting. Whoever finds them, catches them.
Fishing on this lake in the spring is traditional—with winter rods or summer floats (so as not to spook the crucian carp).
I met some fishing friends on the lake. They've had some very good catches in the first 24 hours. I join them and off we go.
👉 We catch crucian carp, cook them right away, fry them. We watch the sunset and sunrise, and chat. That's the beauty of fishing.
My biggest crucian carp are almost 700 grams.
Friends collected a can full of small crucian carp, transported them, and stocked a pond near Yekaterinburg.
