I just received this 15th century Ottoman Turkish kilij sword made by Peserey Handicrafts In Turkey. It weighs only 765 grams (1.7 lbs) with a 28.6" blade, and a good amount of distal taper from 6mm to 2mm to offset the swelling in the profile at the yelmen. Even with a point of balance of 7" (18 cm) from the hilt, it feels wonderfully in the hand with very fast cuts and precise thrusts. You will notice that 15th century kilij did not yet feature the iconic curvature in the blade as 17/18 the century kilij. Formal review of this sword in 4K resolution is coming this summer!
