A very short video showing - as I understand it in a basic sense - how to fly an RNAV approach for landing.
It's very similar to the ILS approach - and uses the same features/functions on the aircraft too.
Separate to what I briefly cover in this video, the charts can look a little different and the aircraft have to meet set criteria to be able to fly RNAV or RNP (or GPS) approaches. There is a lot more to it but I wanted to briefly cover a few bits for it to help.
It's basically a GPS version of an ILS approach!
Edit: I do mention it in the video as I explain but I only set an ILS as a backup so I could discuss RNAV. You wouldn't use the ILS frequencies yourself when flying an RNAV approach, in case anyone is mixed up... if you have the ILS frequencies tuned, it'll fly the ILS instead (as it did in this video but I wanted to show the bucket and talk about the charts etc too knowing RNAV can be messy in the sim currently). Also be sure to check your altitudes in the MCDU match the charts too.
