1. TBC Phase 3 Release Date – We can guess that it’s coming out sometime in January based on the timeline of the previous phases in comparison to the PTR – usually the PTR lasts a few weeks and then the new content is released, and since we’ve begun PTR testing last week, phase 3 is likely to be out come January. My guess for an exact date is either January 18 or January 25th.
2. TBC Phase 3 Investments:
Primal Shadow, Water and Life to create resistance gear for the new raids
Heart of Darkness will be a big seller since it’s needed to craft shadow resistance gear and it only drops from mount hyjal and black temple trash.
wind scales in phase 3 also will go up in value as 4 epic bis items are added that can be crafted
of course new gear means new enchants, so keep your eyes on enchanting materials since people will definitely be buying those for their new enchants as the phase progresses. Large Prismatic Shard is used for enchant cloak Greater Shadow Resistance which will certainly be used. Also, along those lines if you find any item that says “Of Shadow Protection” it will likely be worth something again for those raiders looking for shadow resist. Major shadow protection Potions will be increasing in demand which require Mana Thistle and Primal Shadow – also the Cauldron of Major Shadow protection will be sought after which requires Fel Iron Casing, Mana Thistle, and Primal Shadow so those materials also are likely to go up in demand and value.
3. Netherwing Drake Rep Guide - this is your chance to finally get a netherdrake mount
Pre-quest called Kindness - starts in shadowmoon valley. If you’re going to be farming netherwing reputation you actually need epic flying as a pre-requisite. The netherwing eggs are your best bet for getting exalted ASAP, of course the time-gated daily quests can get you there, especially if you have a gathering profession or two you’ll have access to those gathering-profession only dailies, but there’s no limit to how many netherdrake eggs you can gather so it’s the quicker route to exalted.
4. TBC Phase 3 Loot: Black Temple & Mount Hyjal
With the addition of two new raids in phase 3 Black Temple and Mount Hyjal we’ll now have access to Tier 6! This gear is pretty incredible and looks amazing. Some of these sets have amazing animations, like the Warlock Malefic set demonic looking wings appearing every now and then. There’s also of course the biggest ticket item of them all, the legendary Warglaives of Azzinoth now being available from Illidan, the last boss of Black Temple. There’s also the addition of Epic Gems dropping off Black temple trash and in Hyjal can be mined from Ancient Veins between the horde and alliance bases after you kill Anetheron the second boss in the mount hyjal raid. Ancient Veins in mount hyjal can be mined and get you about 7 or so epic gems per run. Another important item coming in Phase 3 is the Mark of the Illidari. These will start dropping in Black Temple and Mount Hyjal and are used to buy flasks from Shattrath – you’ll need exalted with your chosen Aldor or Scyer reputation to purchase.
