Mother's Day, the Adult Child's Most Dreaded Holiday
Not everybody has a loving mother.
Mother's Day is a holiday that can bring up much toxic shame, abandonment, and feelings about narcissistic parenting. Don't fall under the trap of Hallmark greeting cards. If you feel like Mother's Day forces, you to go back into a dysfunctional role and offer loyalty or loyalty is not deserved, remember that you have a choice. I encourage self-care and self-love on this day.
