00:00 - 01:25 - Changes to the town
-All buildings are removed and are now buildable by the player
-All non-functional buildings are removed
-Trying to create a sense of progression as buildings need to be unlocked in a certain order
01:26 - 02:00 - Skelly
-More of a backstory now
-Subtitles on Skelly’s lines and mission objectives
-German, French and Japanese subtitles nearly done and implemented
02:01 - 04:00 - Basket / Resource Vacuum
-Biggest request we’ve had has been to make gathering resources easier
-Introduce the basket, a resource vacuum of sorts that can hold 7 of each resource type
-Started as a bug as it was meant to be used as a basket where you pick objects up with your hand and place them in the basket.
-We forgot to put proper collision on the basket meaning you could just stamp the basket down on resources and have them get sucked up into the basket
-Became the most convenient way of picking up resources, so we just left it in
-Just need to turn it upside down to dump it
-There is also a button underneath that can be pressed to dump them out as a failsafe
04:00 - 06:50 - Cart Improvements
-Deer rudely walks through the shot
-Cart hooks now in so you can hang tools and the basket on the side of the cart
-Big big fixes to how the resources stay put in the cart.
-As soon as you drop something into the cart and the item stops moving, physics turns off and the object welds itself to the nearest object
-You can flip the cart upside down, throw it into the river and the resources will all stay put
-Demonstration of getting the cart stuck on a tree to show that everything stays put
-Cart affects the walk speed properly meaning you can only walk as fast as the cart moves. Eventually we’ll want to have the cart speed affected by the amount of stuff it’s carrying
06:51 - 08:05 - Building the player house
-Demonstrating how easy it is to pick up and dump resources
-Building sound effects in for completion event
-House complete, comes with weapon hooks and a table
-Skelly tells us that we can go around the back and upgrade it later
-House has 3 tiers to allow furniture and fireplace to be added later
-Blacksmith also needs to be built up and upgraded
08:06 - 12:00 - Menu options
-AA can now be toggled and adjusted independently for those who feel it’s too blurry
-Temporal AA is what we use in Unreal which causes things to be a bit blurrier than what most people might be used to
-Can set it from 1 through 4 with 1 being pretty much off
-Dpad movement options added - Hit right side of touchpad to turn other hand into dpad controller
-There are 3 dpad modes: Hover which is touch sensitive like Onward
-Controller forward mode which means you point where you want to go
-HMD forward means where you are looking is always forward
-Joystick mode - Similar to hoverjunkers, push the touchpad down and then move the controller in the direction that you want to go.
-Lowest level of FOV reduction disables that entirely.
12:01 - 13:10 - Utility Belt
-Any weapon or tool can be attached on a ‘belt’
-Just move any tool/weapon/quiver close to your waist and a blue bubble will appear. If the object is let go inside this bubble it will be locked in place at that location
-Started out just being used for quivers but it soon became apparent that this would be insanely useful for other objects
13:11 - - Deer AI
-Deer AI walking around
-Deer Spawners: Deer will respawn to replace the dead ones
-Max limit of 20 deer on the map
-Drying Rack / Meat cooker in place which is the first step towards eating, hunger, health etc etc
