Mistress has lost her mean streak. What's a dominatrix to do?
Mistress's special brand of cruelty has brought her success, with a loyal clientele and a handsome young slave named Boy. But she's alarmed to discover her mean streak is fading - she's losing interest in her work and developing feelings for Boy, who only wants flogging, not fondness.
Mistress gets her spark back when she's hired by an insane, absinthe-swilling cult leader to choreograph his fanatical self-flagellants for the aerobics segment of the cult's TV pilot. But within the cult is a secret web of bizarre perversions, treacherous plots, divine revelations, and a serious rival for Boy's attention.
Mistress Superior made its European debut at the 2010 Fetisch Film Festival in Kiel (Germany) where it won the top acting awards: Elektra Harris for Best Actress in the role of Mistress, and Jacob Breen for Best Actor as Boy. The film has since had festival showings in London, Madrid and Toronto.
The film was made on a shoestring budget with a cast and crew made up almost entirely of Vancouver Public Library employees. The original soundtrack was composed and performed by musicians who work in the library system.
A German subtitled version is available on request.
