Work Permit Changes in the IT Sector:
Significant changes have been made to work permit applications! As of October 1st, the requirement to employ five Turkish citizens in some professions has been lifted. Who can benefit from these exemptions, especially in specialized fields like the IT sector? Which professions are included in this regulation?
Professions:
Database Specialist
Software Development Specialist
Mobile Software Specialist
Employment and financial qualification criteria for foreign employees working in these positions have been removed. This means there is no longer a requirement to employ five Turkish citizens in the workplace!
Businesses Working in the IT Sector: IT sector companies (e.g., software development and cybersecurity) can fully benefit from these regulations. You can apply for a work permit for foreign employees without any capital or employment criteria.
Status in Other Sectors: For businesses outside the IT sector, this exemption will be granted to a maximum of two foreign employees. The minimum wage has been set at 40,000 TL by 2024.
