Best Road Trip in the UK? 🏴 | NC500 Scotland Day 1
NC500 or the North Coast 500 is the best road trip in the UK! This is Scotland’s answer to Route 66: an epic 800km road trip running around some of the best sights in the whole country.
In this Scotland travel series, we show you our complete 8 day itinerary for taking on the best road trip in the UK. Including the best things to do when in you are off the beaten path Scotland, the best places to stay and why you need to do a Scotland road trip in 2021 - including all of our travel costs and expenses.
We begin episode 1 by flying with Easyjet from London Luton up to Inverness, a strange experience back in June 2021, when the UK had just removed the strictest pandemic restrictions.
In the capital of the Highlands, we spent the night in a budget Wetherspoon’s Hotel and checked out the official starting point of the NC500 route at Inverness Castle.
The next day, we rented a car from Inverness airport and hit the road! Stopping at the Rogie Falls, Eilean Donan Castle, Kyle of Lochalsh, the Skye Bridge and ending up checking into a stunning Airbnb Caravan on the Isle of Skye.
