Jaishankar Prasad is one of the major pillars of Indian Hindi literature. He made immense contributions to various genres, including poetry, novels, short stories, and drama. His father's name was Devi Prasad. Jaishankar Prasad's father died when he was only 12 years old, and he faced many hardships throughout his childhood. Prasad received his early education at Queen's College in Kashi, but later, extensive arrangements were made for his education at home, where he studied Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, and Persian.
Jaishankar Prasad was married three times, as his first two wives died of tuberculosis. His only son, Ratna Shankar Prasad, was born to his third wife. Prasad himself also suffered from tuberculosis later in life, ultimately passing away at the young age of 48.
