It's late October here in Alaska. The seasons are making their slow, quiet shift toward winter. I spent some time just walking around this area, watching the ice drift on the river and enjoying the way the evening sunlight spread its rays.
These are the kind of "adventures" I've been appreciating most lately. There's nothing epic or intense going on--not at the surface, at least. I'm not scaling K2 or exploring new ruins in the jungle. I'm just...being in a place. I'm moving the way that feels right for me, and I'm breathing in everything around me. It's simple, but somehow it's everything to me right now. It isn't the kind of thing that will grow my youtube channel or feed the starving world of hashtags, but I'm okay with that. This video isn't about that sort of thing--it's about honoring the memory of an experience, it's about sharing my love of Nature with the few who watch, and it's about wandering free.
