Advanced comm Lec 5: MRC, Transmit Diversity and MIMO spatial Multiplexing
In this video, we first discuss maximal ratio combining (MRC) as the optimal combining technique for the receive diversity. Next, we study the 2x1 Alamouti scheme as a powerful technique to exploit transmit diversity. Next, we introduce the general MIMO channel model. We discuss the maximum likelihood, zero-forcing, and MMSE MIMO receivers. Finally, we investigate the parallel channel decomposition of the MIMO channel using SVD.
