The Wickie 0.2.1 - Rain Preview (Unreal Engine 4.27)
Today I finished building the plain level template for the various days that pass in The Wickie - previously I had built seperate levels as I developed each day however I realised that the island and all its changes can be managed from a single repository of streaming levels. If you don’t understand what that means, think of it like each level being made from a jigsaw of parts, and the parts can be swapped out later to make the picture that the jigsaw makes change subtly.
Anyway, because of that I was able to raise the version number to 0.2.1 from 0.1.9 and I am pleased to be able to demonstrate that the weather system is working really well. You can see the rain from the windows looking out, then when you step out you are hit by a sheet of rain which dries out as you come inside.
