Why and how to use the screen command
Screen is a fantastic tool to help you manage sessions. You can split the screen any way you want, leave them, and come back later without losing your work. This is a great Linux tool that anyone who works in the terminal should use.
The biggest advantage is to simply open several terminal window within one terminal. You can arrange and split the windows however you wish. Then you can save the opened screens, and detach it, then reconnect to the screens and continue where you left off. This is great when working remotely on another machine and running long commands. You can then detach from it and even turn off your computer to reconnect later and pick up where you left off!
