Here is an outline of the steps used in this video to remove an unwanted area of your timeline in Adobe Premiere Pro using a 3 step In, Out, Extract method. Play your video in the timeline (spacebar on Mac to start / stop the playhead)
1. Mark IN on your timeline (I key on Mac), continue to play the video
2. Mark OUT on your timeline (O key on Mac)
3. Extract key (apostrophe on Mac) to remove and close the gap (Lift key, semicolon ; on Mac, will leave a gap in your timeline)
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for each extraction
Best practice tip: Lock to isolate timeline layers you are not using while working.
Tip 2: Watch Audio Meters (top menu: Window, Audio Meters) to help target IN / OUT positions, and nudge the playhead using the arrow keys.
