Simple Steps to Reset Kali Root Password
Just in case you forgot your Root password when you tried to use your Kali, here is a video to show you how to quickly reset it in 3 minutes.
1. After reset your Kali, in the GNU GRUB window, select ‘Advanced options for Kali GNU/Linux‘ option and press Enter.
2. Select the second option with (recovery mode.), then press E to edit it.
3. Use the arrow keys to replace ro with rw and type the command ‘init=/bin/bash‘ next to the command ‘initrd=/install/gtk/initrd.gz‘. After you done the edit, press F10, the system will restart.
4. You will be put into a terminal, just issue "passwd root" command to change your root password. Press ctrl+alt+del to reboot your Kali again after you updated your password successfully
