Purchased for restoration. A damaged Ford Mondeo 2, 1997. I had a slight need for a car like this. The price is ridiculously low: 18,000 rubles. You could say it's scrap metal.
The damage is minor.
There might be more surprises, I don't rule it out, but... What a car this is! ))). I really hope I won't regret the purchase and that this vehicle will handle its intended purpose, and even sell, justifying the restoration costs. In this video, "Ford Mondeo 2 continued. Removing the steering rack." We discovered that the front brake discs were badly worn, the power steering was howling like a wolf in the cold, and the steering rack was leaking.
The steering rack and power steering pump needed to be replaced. Removing the steering rack turned out to be quite tricky; I had to remove the subframe.
The rear bolts came out without any problem, but the front ones wouldn't. The right one broke off, and the left one twisted in the side member. I had to cut the side member and weld a nut to it.
