Epanet-js update - Asset Search – Innovation at Qatium
Did you know Director of Innovation at Qatium Luke Butler maintains an open-source library? And that it powers Qatium?
It’s called epanet-js, and it’s how Luke got his current role at Qatium. For the last two years, he's been able to dedicate even more time to its development. Plus, he gets free reign to innovate openly and create cool new tools, applications & visualisations and share them publicly with you!
Qatium has over 50 people working on the app, it's been amazing for Luke to his open-source project serving as a fundamental component of a larger application.
One of the most rewarding aspects has been making hydraulic modeling more mainstream and accessible. By enabling simulations directly in the browser, we’ve opened modeling to a new set of users to see the opportunities and benefits of leveraging models at water utilities.
Not only does Luke get to actively maintain and enhance epanet-js, but he can also contribute back to the core EPANET project, providing further benefit to all those that rely on EPANET.
To help others use epanet-js, Luke has recently updated the GitHub readme. The revamp simplifies the process for newcomers to learn about the library, get started with running simulations in JavaScript, and have access to a showcase of diverse applications using the library.
