The social media company Facebook has changed its name. Now it will be known as 'Meta'. This was announced by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday 28 October. Let us explain what is Zuckerberg's motive behind doing this. Will this make any difference to Facebook?
Actually, Facebook has been considered a social media company till now, while Meta will be a social technology company. This means that many other products like Facebook will now come under the umbrella of the Meta brand.
फ़ेसबुक ने अपना कॉर्पोरेट नाम बदलकर मेटा कर लिया है. यह फ़ेसबुक की व्यापक रीब्रैंडिंग का हिस्सा है. कंपनी ने कहा है कि वो सोशल मीडिया से आगे वर्चुअल रियलिटी में अपनी पहुँच बढ़ाएगी. नाम में बदलाव अलग-अलग प्लेफॉर्म्स, जैसे- फ़ेसबुक, इंस्टाग्राम और वॉट्सऐप में नहीं होगा. यह बदलाव इन सबके स्वामित्व वाली पेरेंट कंपनी के लिए है. यानी मेटा पेरेंट कंपनी है और फ़ेसबुक, वॉट्सऐप और इंस्टाग्राम इनके हिस्सा हैं.
