From the Royal Albert Hall, the first performance of Michael Lawson's Symphonic Movements, performed by the All Souls Orchestra, conductor Noel Tredinnick. Michael Lawson writes chamber, orchestral and film music and studied composition with the great French teacher, Nadia Boulanger, and the English composer, Edmund Rubbra. He is also known as a human rights documentary film maker, and he has recently directed five broadcast documentaries on India's Dalits, for which he has also written the film scores. His latest film, India's Forgotten Children, has its London West End premiere at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square on 7th November 2013. Symphonic Movements itself started life as sketches for a film score, and then took on a life of its own as a Symphonic orchestral composition.
