When you’re learning something you’re building up a map of understanding but the whole structure feels very heavy and complex. But at the point of true understanding, the structure that you had relied on to explain the concept just vanishes - all the weight and mental burden of storing all the structures and links in your head and you can recall it in whatever form you need.
