We began this activity by exploring port 80 and then utilized Nikto to identify additional directories. Since port 21 is active, we used Msfconsole to exploit the FTP service and gain access to a root shell. By extracting the hash from the Shadow file, we were able to crack it and attempt to log in as the root user.
