I have received a few requests asking me to explain how I observe and sketch a portrait. So here it is with Lee Dong Wook as my model. The graphic and photo on the left demonstrate how I observe a model/photo reference. My method of sketching is carefully observing the model, finding the same-length ratios and transfer them to my sketchbook. The photo and graphic on the left screen demonstrate how I observe him.
