This incredible wildlife haven is not only Kenya's oldest national park, gazetted in 1946 but also a unique haven situated right on the city's outskirts. Yeah, that's right, we're just a stone's throw away from the bustling Nairobi cityscape. It's mind-blowing how these two contrasting worlds coexist in perfect harmony. Did you know that Nairobi National Park is home to over 100 mammal species and an astounding 400 bird species? It's mind-boggling! As we drive along, I can't help but be amazed by the park's diversity. Giraffes gracefully munching on leaves, zebras engaging in playful fights, and rhinos leisurely grazing in the distance, even this one has a new born baby– it's a true African safari experience.
But let's get back to the stars of our show – the lions! We've received word from our trusty guide that a pridemate was spotted just ahead. With bated breath, we drove to this location and we were surprised at the the number of safari vehicles chasing after the lions. Suddenly, – two lioness are taking leisurely strolls as if we're not even here.It's truly inspiring to witness these incredible creatures in their natural habitat, being in such close proximity to them humbles me. Their regal presence and fearless demeanor remind us of the importance of protecting and preserving the diverse wildlife we're lucky enough to share this planet with.As our safari adventure comes to an end, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this unforgettable experience. Nairobi National Park has reminded me of the beauty and resilience of our natural world. It's a powerful reminder that we must do everything in our power to safeguard it for future generations.
