How to Overlay Text Over a Image in Canva 2026
Hello. In this video, I will teach you how to place text over a Image in your Canva design by managing layers.
Step 1: Open your project in Canva. Make sure both the image and your text are on the canvas.
Step 2: If your text is behind the image, press the keys Alt and 1 on your keyboard to open the layers panel.
Step 3: In the layers panel, you will see a list of all the elements in your design. Find the layer for your text and the layer for your image.
Step 4: Click on your text element in the list and drag it upward so it is positioned above the image layer.
Step 5: Close the layers panel. Now, click and drag your text box on the canvas to position it over the Image.
Step 6: Ensure your text is readable. If it blends into the background, you can change its color, increase its size, or move it to a clearer area of the image.
