Super Mario-Kun by Yukio Sawada is a Japanese manga series printed in Corocoro starting in 1991. It's a slapstick-style comedy retelling of each Mario game. Last year, we finally got an official English release of Sawada's Greatest Hits in "Super Mario Manga Mania" and I was surprised by just what I read by the time I was done with it. This manga while it was a casual, comedic series, had so much heart put into it that I couldn't help but get hit in the feels by the end of it.
