The PS5 Already Doomed the PS6
The PS6 might already be in trouble, and the biggest reason is the PS5.
The PS5 wasn’t a bad console, but between cross-gen releases, a lack of must-have exclusives, and increasingly minor graphical upgrades, Sony spent an entire generation teaching people that they didn’t need to upgrade right away. Now PlayStation is moving further away from physical ownership, console prices are creeping closer to PC territory, and digital purchases feel less permanent than ever.
