Travis Picking 2.0: Selecting Alternate Bass Notes for each chord
Which bass notes are used as the two alternating bass notes for each chord while "pattern" picking or Travis style finger picking? With the Travis Picking pattern that I use and teach on my channel, the D-string (whether open or fretted on whatever chord) winds up becoming the second alternate bass note, no matter what. The first bass note is played on the 1st downbeat of any chord. I hope this lesson helps to demonstrate what I mean.
