Tour : How to use mail merge to send bulk emails in Word 2016

Step 1. Launch word 2016 on your desktop
Step 2. Open a new word document
Step 3. Make sure that your Excel data file is ready
Step 4. Remember the location of your Excel file
Step 5. Click on mailing tab at top
Step 6. Expand select recipients
Step 7. Go ahead and select the Excel file that has email data
Step 8. Remember to choose right sheet from Excel
Step 9. Now we are ready for mail merge
Step 10. Inserting first name
Step 11. Your word doc post firstname insertion
Step 12. Showing preview feature in action
Step 13. Click on finish and merge
Step 14. Showing Merge to Email fields
Step 15. We are done. Outlook will automatically send emails

1.Launch word 2016 on your desktop

Launch word 2016 on your desktop. Simply type word in ask my anything box.



2.Open a new word document

Open a new word document. Note that there is a mailing section in the ribbon.



3.Make sure that your Excel data file is ready

Make sure that your XLS data file is ready for mail merge and sending emails in bulk. You need at least name and email.



4.Remember the location of your Excel file

Remember the location of your Excel file. You will need it soon.



5.Click on mailing tab at top

Click on mailings tab at top and note the expanded ribbon menu for mailing. Note that you can select recipients.



6.Expand select recipients

Expand select recipients and choose Use an Existing List.



7.Go ahead and select the Excel file that has email data

Go ahead and select the Excel file that has email data. Note that we created this file earlier in this tour.



8.Remember to choose right sheet from Excel

9.Now we are ready for mail merge

Now we are ready for mail merge. Note that you can choose specific field at a location in word doc. Here we are inserting first name.

Click on finish and merge and choose send email messages. Now you can choose subject and email fields.

15.We are done. Outlook will automatically send emails
