Daniella Portillo is a landscape painter who primarily works in oils. Her practice involves the repetition of layering and sanding paint on wood panel. In her time at the Norton, she has been able to singularly focus on her craft. She will complete her residency in two final weeks at the LMAR facilities in the Berkshires.

Daniella spent the past six weeks bringing her creativity to life at the Norton in collaboration with the Long Meadow Art Residency (LMAR) (@longmeadowartresidency). It has been a remarkable journey to watch Dani transform her vision into these stunning works of art right before our eyes.

Portillo grew up in West Palm Beach and studied at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She has called the Norton “the museum of my childhood,” so it has been truly special to watch Dani’s creativity flow here. We can’t wait to see what she does next, and we hope you enjoy this little peek into her work.
