What is gaming mouse DPI and how do you set it right for your needs? I explain in detail what it means and how to calculate the DPI settings for your needs. Higher dpi makes your screen curser move faster but also makes it less precise.
To calculate your required DPI properly you need 3 values.
- Your screen size in pixels (eg 1920 pixel)
- Your in game view (eg 90 degree)
- how far you want to move your mouse in inches for a full 360 turn
- then calculate this: (screen size pixels) x (in game view) / 360 / (mouse movement inches) = dpi setting
