I'm still pruning panicle hydrangeas on my channel, and today I'm pruning two of them – 'Dentelle de Gorron' and 'Vanilla Fraise'. You might have noticed that one hydrangea was a bit more challenging to prune than the other, because when the shoots are strong and straight, you can see the future structure of the bush as you approach it. But when the bush is weak, with all the shoots thin and crooked, you start to wonder what to keep, what to cut off, and whether you did everything correctly. But we'll only know that once it blooms.
