3ds Max Tips and Tricks - Autogrid
In this 3ds Max Tips and Tricks video, Jean-Pierre van Gastel shows an additional functionality that Autogrid features but are only activated using a keyboard shortcut.
By enabling Autogrid and pressing the Alt key before you add an object to your scene you will permanently add a new alignment grid. You will see multiple grids in your scene as you create them, but you can activate and deactivate them.
