The Yenisei radar from the S-500 is already protecting the Russian sky
The Russian army began to receive the Yenisei radar. The system, designed for the S-400 and S-500 systems, has truly unique capabilities and has no analogues in the world.
The target detection range of the new radar station is only 30 km higher than that of its predecessor 91N6E. However, its dual-band phased locator provides much higher target selection clarity.
So, the new radar can not be "deceived" even by high-temperature plasma created by special carbon filaments produced by the Iskander-M rocket. No radar station in the world has such capabilities today.
Moreover, the "Yenisei" in addition to the all-round view is able to work in the sector, which allows you to detect even small hypersonic objects.
But this is not all the "merits" of a unique station. The complex has a passive mode of operation, which allows it to be used as a means of radio intelligence. Even "Yenisei" not only unmistakably distinguishes military targets from all others, but also can clearly fix civilian airliners in its area of responsibility.
