here is a little item guide that shows you the different items and these abilities from the Don't Starve Together - "The Forge".

Hats:
Feathered Wreath: +20% Movespeed
Crystal Tiara: +10%CDR
Blossomed Wreath: +2 HP/Second (up to 80% HP), +10% CDR, +10% Movespeed
Woven Garland: +20% Healing dealt
Clairvoyant Crown: +25% Magic Damage Dealt, +10% CDR, +10% Movespeed
Flower Headband: +25% Healing received
Barbed Helm: +10% Physical Damage
Nox Helm: +15% Physical Damage
Resplendent Nox Helm: +15% physical damage, +10% CDR, +10% Movespeed
Armor:
Reed Tunic: 50% Def +5% CDR
Feather Reed Tunic: 60% Def + 10% Movespeed
Wooden Armor: 75% Def
Siken Wood Armor: 75% Def +10% CDR
Jagged Wood Armor: 75% Def +10% Physical Damage
Stone Splint Mail: 85% Def
Steadfast Stone Armor: 90% Def -15%Movespeed, Resistance to Knockback
Weapons:
Darts:
Barrage Darts:
20 Damage - can fire off 8 darts in a rapid succession.
Molten Darts:
25 Damage - can fire one heavy shot.
Melee:
Forging Hammer:
20 Damage - creates a Circle that makes 30 Damage and stunning the mob
Pith Pike:
25 Damage - rush forward with Damage, can flip Snortoises
Spiral Spear:
30 Damage - jump away and drill down into the circle
Woodie:
Riled Lucy:
20 Damage - Can be thrown, very fast cooldown
Staff:
Infernal Staff:
25 Damage - can call a Meteor with massive damage
Living Staff:
10 Damage - create a circle to heal players or to sleep the mob
Books:
Tome of Petrification:
15 Damage - Petrifies the moob in the circle
Tome of Beckoning:
15 Damage - Summons a magma golem
Runner equipment:
Feather Reed Tunic + Feathered Wreath - by the bossfight change armor to Stone Splint Mail
Tank equipment:
Steadfast Stone Armor + Flower Headband or Blossomed Wreath
Healer equipment:
Siken Wood Armor + starts with Crystal Tiara later change to Woven Garland
Damage-Dealer equipment:
Jagged Wood Armor + Barbed Helm, Nox Helm or Resplendent Nox Helm
Magican equipment:
Siken Wood Armor + Clairvoyant Crown
