Dr. Greg Botz - The Next Level of Patient Safety
Dr. Gregory H. Botz is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a faculty member of the Clinical Safety & Effectiveness program, Dr. Botz is on the front lines of patient safety. He will describe some of the lessons he has learned on integrating quality improvement and patient safety into the daily fabric of caring for patients by looking for ways to improve outcomes while decreasing waste and rework. This requires the willingness to change and the tools/methods needed to make improvements but can be accomplished by engaging individuals in clinical leadership positions in improvement initiatives aligned with the organizational strategic goals.
