When @synologyinc reached out to us to see if we'd be interested in looking at the #DS920+ we didn't hesitate! We've been using Synology products for years as part of our #homelab and channel for storing video and virtual machine backups. So let's take a deep look at the Synology Diskstation DS920+, its hardware, features, and do some network performance tests as well!
In this video, we'll walk you through the device, its dimensions, features, and more! We'll also benchmark the SMB (Windows file sharing) network performance between a Windows 10 PC and the DS920+ over a 1G connection to see how well this little NAS can serve up data over a Windows file share. Synthetic benchmarks were done using CrystalDiskMark in four different read/write scenarios across 13 different file sizes.
