68 - Woodworking 101 Lesson 4 Build a Basic Bench

In this video, we are going to jump right into the woodworking. This first project is a handy addition to any shop, large or small. This is a very basic workbench with a lot of features. It can be built with or without drawers, and I will walk you through every calculation of just how to make them.
I think there are many ways to learn woodworking, and the way that I prefer is a hands on approach. I think the quicker you can jump into a project, the funner it will be, and the faster you will learn. We are all going to make mistakes woodworking. And the best way to find that out, and get better is by starting with a project that has materials that aren’t too expensive. And, a project that will stay with you, is good too. This way you develop skill, so that by the time you are making for others, your quality has improved.
This bench has some features of fine woodworking projects as well. Such as the creation and installation of drawers. So all around, I think it’s a good starting point.
