Banksy's World of Street Art vs Advertising
Street Art like that of Banksy and Shephard Fairey voices a certain element of the current culture, or counter culture, depending on who views it. Advertising & Marketing is full of art lovers who use that sensibility for profit on behalf of brands. What happens when they cross? It's happening right now, the trend is here, and I wonder if it's OK? Is it alright to yank culture and use it? Maybe. Is it just what happens? Kinda... This episode I bring up some points to think about and I really want to know what your take on it is.
