How does Russia plan to develop the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug region in the Russian Federation.
Most of the Yamal-Nenets territory is located within the Arctic Circle. The region contains Russia’s largest hydrocarbon reserve area. 90% of all natural gas in Russia is produced there which is one fifth of the entire Global share. Many developmental and infrastructure projects are currently underway in the region. The Governor of Yamal, Dmitry Kobylkin, spoke at the 2016 Arctic Circle Assembly and presented the audience with this video at the end of his speech.
