A little video editing exercise that turned into a 60-second flowery commercial for the Dave Brubeck Quartet's classic album, "Time Out." I edited the track "Three to Get Ready" to fit the flower theme timewise in Avid Media Composer. Usually I prefer to edit audio in Pro Tools, Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio, or Adobe Audition. It was a get-acquainted-with-Avid-Media-Composer exercise using files recorded onto an Atomos Ninja 2 field recorder as Avid DNxHD I-frame format files in a mov wrapper connected via HDMI to a Nikon D610. The camera audio was deleted in favor of the music track. The setup bypassed the D610's video compression software and used output directly from the DSLR's sensor. The project was exported to a mov file matching the video source from Media Composer and was then converted to mp4 using my old standby editor, Adobe Premiere Pro CC. On a side note: As a jazz program radio d.j. in Toledo years ago, I had the honor of introducing on-stage both the Dave Brubeck Quartet and Dave's sons' quartet. Good concert, good memories.
