Sir, I want to build a career in finance. Should I go for CFA or FRM?

Both are great — but the right one for you depends on your end goal.

The CFA program has 3 levels.

The first two focus on building a solid foundation in investments — think equity, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative assets.

By Level 3, you start choosing specialized pathways like portfolio management, private equity, or wealth advisory.

CFA is ideal if you're aiming for roles in investment research, equity analysis, or asset management.

FRM, on the other hand, has 2 levels and is all about risk.
You’ll dive deep into market, credit, and operational risk, along with risk modelling.

If you're leaning toward risk management, compliance, or credit analysis, FRM might be your best bet.

And hey — if all these terms are new to you, don’t panic. It’s not rocket science.

Start small: read through their official websites and try some free virtual experiences offered by companies.

They give a sneak peek into real-world roles and can help you decide what fits you best!
