“The best bad run I’ve ever had”
A longer run could only do this justice. Full of spirit starting the run despite the rain. Decided to run along the canal (bad choice in the rain), trainers and mud are not a good combination, then getting lost.
Things that sometimes can take away the enjoyment of a run. After the mud, rain and getting lost (at 5k in), I wanted to quit and stop, but that would mean going back the way I came.
So carried on, 10k in, the sun came out and the mood was back up again. 15k in, soaked everywhere, mood dipped again and lasted until the end. When I get to around 18k-ish there’s something inside me that says, you’re only a few k’s away from the half marathon distance, so why not just get to that and you’ve done your HM distance for the month.
It was hard, probably the hardest run I’ve ever done and to top it off, I uploaded the run to Strava, only for it the inform me that it was a HM PB (02:26:37). Dam.
So it wasn’t that bad.
Definitely the best bad #run I’ve ever had.
