A full spectrum camera opens up a completely different way of seeing the world — and in this video I take my Sony A7 out to explore one of the least understood areas of photography: ultraviolet light.

From abandoned World War II pillboxes on the Northumberland coast to the dramatic landscapes of Shaftoe Crags, this video is less about technical perfection and more about experimentation, discovery, and learning how UV photography behaves in the real world. Along the way I compare ultraviolet to infrared photography, discuss UV and IR blocking filters, and share some of the surprising things I’ve learned while shooting with a full spectrum camera for the first time.

The results definitely weren’t what I expected… but that’s exactly what made the process so interesting.
