Hurricane Sandy: HSUS Sheltering Pets
Superstorm Sandy wrought havoc with the lives of people and pets in New Jersey and New York. The HSUS has rescued more than 250 animals from devastated areas, and we're now caring for more than 470 animals in three emergency shelters—helping to relieve families as they begin to rebuild their lives. Happily, each day ushers in more reunions between people and their beloved pets—more than 200 have been reunited with or reclaimed by their owners.
