A lot of streamers have been moving toward a super clean, simple look for their overlays. One element of that look is their webcam frame. In this video, I discuss how to create the clean, rounded webcam frame with a shadow behind it in a few easy steps. It is entirely free, and there are no additional installations or plugins required.

This guide should be relevant in OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS, OBS.Live and anything else based on the OBS platform which allows the use of the native, built-in filters.

Guide starts at 00:35

I hope this guide proves useful in creating a beautiful, clean overlay!

This is definitely not the only way to accomplish this effect - I'd love to read other approaches in the comments!

Easy, Clean Webcam Frame for your Stream!

Summary:
1: Create a scene and add your camera source
2: Add an image mask filter to the new scene (not the camera source) and specify the image as one of the downloads below
3: Adjust your camera behind the mask to get the appearance you want
4: Create another scene and add your rounded camera scene to it as well as an image source containing one of the mask images. Layer the images in order so the shadow image is behind the camera. Consider using a color source to make seeing the various parts easier.
5: Right click on the shadow image and select transform - fit to screen. Then nudge it as necessary to get it behind the camera with no white background showing.
6: Add the scene with the shadowed webcam anywhere you want!
